Gary Gauldin
School Board, Park Rapids Schools
Having approximately 50 years experience in public education, my commitment to meeting the challenges and success in greater MN is consistent with the mission of MREA. My background consists of: High School Teacher, Coach, retired High School Principal, and for the past 12+ years as a School Board Member. My personal passions are in the areas of making Vocational – Technical Education a viable option for post-secondary training and, preserving Concurrent Enrollment (aka College In High School) of which I have been a strong advocate. MREA has been the one strong voice for protecting and advancing the success of rural schools and meeting the needs of all learners. I would welcome the opportunity to serve as a Board member.

School Board, Pierz Schools
I am the current MREA School Board Representative for the North Central Zone, where I serve as Secretary-Treasurer as well as an active member on the Executive and Annual Conference committees. I am a very dedicated board member and work with MREA staff between meetings to oversee the organization’s finances. I also Chair the Pierz School Board, in my 15th year overall where I have been Chair and clerk a few times, and have proudly serve as our representative on the Mid-State Education District governing board for 10 years. I am a huge proponent for education and work diligently to support this great organization and the learning opportunities and representation it gives rural school districts at the state level.
