CLM Conference Calls for Presentations

By October 4, 2013 No Comments

Organizers of the 2013 conference of the Curriculum Leaders of Minnesota (CLM) is seeking presentation proposals for the conference on November 13 – 15. The theme this year is Excellence & Equity for Every Student.

The big difference in how well students from varying backgrounds perform in school (aka “the achievement gap”) has been a focus of attention for a long time and remains one of the most urgent problems in education today.

Share your practices, programs, and perspective and submit any proposed topic you feel would pertain to our theme. Submit your proposal online by Thursday, October 17.   After completing the online proposal form, please email quinn@mnasa.org.

Two presentation types requested include:

1.  Best Practices: Ignite the Conversation

This will be three 20 sessions on Thursday morning.  Presenters will have about/y five minutes to present the salient points on their topic and will be asked to have 4 or 5 questions for discussion.  Questions should reflect back to the theme.  After 20 minutes the groups will move and the sessions will repeat, twice.

2.  90-minute Breakout Sessions

These are traditional concurrent breakout sessions, taking place on Thursday (10:15-11:45 am or 12-1:30 pm).

Planners will review proposals and notify you of their decision the week of October 21. For more information, contact Jeanna at the MASA office (651-789-4062 or quinn@mnasa.org).
