MREA is now accepting nominations for six seats on the MREA Board of Directors, effective Jan. 1, 2014. Individuals from MREA full membership districts are encouraged to apply for this opportunity to serve and represent school districts in rural Minnesota. Individuals may nominate themselves or someone else.

Nominations must be submitted online and need to include a Statement of Interest that will accompany the ballot mailed to eligible voting members. The deadline for nominations is Oct. 21.

MREA’s Board of Directors is comprised of 21 persons – 16 directors elected by the membership and 4 statewide directors appointed by the Board. The 21st seat on the Board is filled only in the case of seating the individual who holds the office of “Past-President.”

Each zone elects one administrator, one teacher, one school board member, and one at-large member. The Board of Directors appoints two representatives of higher education and two representatives from a statewide agency. View the eligible full member districts.
