MREA Partners To Bring Leaders Together on Dual Credit Changes

By June 13, 2016 No Comments

MREA announced today that it has partnered with the Center for School Change to host an event later this summer to bring together high school and post-secondary leaders to discuss recent dual credit changes and next steps.

This conference, hosted in collaboration with community and parent partners, aims to engage community members, students, parents, educators and representatives of MnSCU, the University of Minnesota, and their campuses. More details on the conference plans will be released in the coming weeks.

The issues surrounding the concurrent enrollment changes approved by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC)  are complex. Among the key issues of discussion will be teacher credentialing and the pricing of the services provided by MnSCU campuses for the dual enrollment credits.

On behalf of the 225,000 students educated in 215 MREA member school districts across the state, MREA advocates for a seamless system of P-20 education in Minnesota and is proud to be part of the solution as a convener of these conversations.
