Now more than ever, social emotional support is needed for leaders, educators, and frankly, just about everyone. MREA is dedicated to providing tangible, proven resources for Greater MN education leaders. As such, MREA has partnered with EmpowerU, a Minnesota-based provider of self-care and resilience training for educators, administrators, and students.

EmpowerU Educator PD is a professional development course that will help leaders be a better administrators and educators while better supporting student’s mental health needs. At the same time, leaders will focus on supporting their own mental health and resilience.

Each MREA member district will receive three complimentary enrollments in EmpowerU Educator Resilience, including 1:1 support from an EmpowerU coach.

MREA is investing in district leaders, so they can invest in their team as they reset, recharge and build lasting resilience this summer.

EmpowerU participants will invest a few hours a week, and an EmpowerU coach will provide personalized feedback throughout the program to help participants apply the concepts to their personal goals.

By the end of the course, leaders will be able to apply these SEL skills to help build resilience, coping and purpose.

EmpowerU groups begin online May 16, June 15, July 15, and August 1. Content is self-paced, but should be completed within 4 weeks of the start.

If you’re interested in taking part in the EmpowerU program, connect with your Superintendent or district office, who will have the MREA registration link or contact Betsy Bahn at betsy@empoweru.education.
