The public is now invited to help review and revise Minnesota’s K-12 physical education standards until Jan. 6

Minnesota adopted the 2004 national physical education standards in 2010. Recent legislation requires the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) to convene a Standards Committee during the 2016-2017 school year to review the adopt new standards.

Comment Period Open for Standards Review

As part of the standards review process, the public is invited to comment on the current physical education standards.

Apply for Physical Education Standards Committee

Applications are now being accepted for individuals interested in serving on the Physical Education Standards Review Committee. The deadline to apply is Dec. 21. MDE will announce the committee members on its website on Jan. 6.
