The members of the Career Pathways and Technical Education Advisory Task Force have been appointed. Of the 23 members of the task force, only 3 are from rural Minnesota, and only 8 represent K-12 schools. The other representatives are from post-secondary institutions, businesses and economic development personnel. Two rural legislators are also members of the Task Force: Rep. The 2013 Minnesota Legislature established a Career Pathways and Technical Education Advisory Task Force to recommend to the Legislature how to structurally redesign secondary and postsecondary education to:
- Improve secondary and postsecondary outcomes for students and adult learners.
- Align secondary and postsecondary education programs serving students and adult learners.
- Align secondary and postsecondary education programs and Minnesota’s workforce needs.
- Measure and evaluate the combined efficacy of Minnesota’s public kindergarten through grade 12 and postsecondary education programs.
