Just over one week remains until applications are due for the 2017 MREA Board of Directors. Terms for three available seats on the 21-person board begin January 1, 2017. The application deadline is 5 pm, Wednesday, October 19.

Individuals interested in representing school districts across Greater Minnesota are encouraged to apply for these elected positions. Applications must be submitted online and need to include a written Statement of Interest indicating interest and qualifications in fulfilling director responsibilities. Apply here.

MREA Member districts will vote in November and December for candidates in their respective zones. Each zone is represented by one school administrator, one teacher, one school board member, and one at-large member. The Board of Directors also appoints two representatives of higher education, two representatives from service cooperatives, and one representative of education districts. Review zones.

To be eligible to apply for a Board vacancy, a candidate must represent a full (non-introductory) member of MREA, must come from the zone in which the vacancy exists, and must agree to attend scheduled Board meetings and the Annual Conference. View eligible districts. Apply online.

Candidates must apply themselves and confirm their online application. If you know someone who would make a valuable addition to the MREA Board of Directors, please encourage him or her to apply.
