The application period for 2017-18 Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten is open through January 30. Applications for new programs are available online now.

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) is encouraging districts and charter schools interested in applying for funding to submit applications for 2017-18 Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten. Additional funding will need to appropriated by the legislature, but if funding is approved, districts on this list will be first in line for funding.

Webinars outlining the application process are being offered this week. See webinar dates and access information below. Select one that fits your current Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten status.

MREA and MDE collaborated on the Program Impact Estimator Tool to help you see how this Voluntary Pre-K program would work financially for your school district over the next two years. Download the Estimator Tool. View an example.

Schools currently receiving voluntary pre-K funding and meeting statutory program and reporting requirements will continue to receive funding in 2017-18, but will need to renew their applications. Applications for currently funded district and charter school Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten programs are available online now.
