The Minnesota Humanities Center is offering scholarships to a Summer Educators’ Institute in St. Paul the week of June 26-July 1, 2016. Participants from Greater Minnesota are encouraged to apply.
Increase Student Engagement
The Institute, “Transforming Education Through Absent Narratives,” provides educators with an opportunity to engage with the Humanities Center’s approach to increase student engagement through absent narratives — the voices often left out or marginalized.
Participants will receive K-12 professional development content and additional benefits including:
- Classroom resources, tools, and strategies
- Certificate for 45+ clock hours
- All meals provided
- Lodging (if traveling from outside Minneapolis/St. Paul)
Scholarships Available
In recognition of the time and energy educators will share, the Humanities Center is offering this experience at a full scholarship to participants (a $2,800 value). The only cost to participants is a $150 registration fee (10% discount for team registrations).
Applications
The institute welcomes educators representing a wide variety of “student-facing” roles including classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, administrative and support staff, and community educators. Teams will receive priority registration. Applications are due April 15.
