MREA invites all members to attend its 2023 Annual Member Meeting coming up in two weeks. All MREA member districts and organizations, and their employees and board members, are encouraged to attend.

Legislative Platform
The MREA Board of Directors has identified key issues and recommended a legislative platform and issues for the 2024 Minnesota Legislative Session that opens February 12. Voting on the 2024 Legislative Platform and on the Board’s recommendations for updated By-Laws are the primary actions members will take at the meeting. Key legislative issues include:
- Improving Teacher Compensation
- Closing Funding Gaps
- Creating Policy Flexibility
2024 Board Candidates
Members at the Annual Meeting will also be introduced to candidates running for election to open seats on the 2024 Board of Directors. Fifteen candidates have applied for six open spots on the Board of Directors. Each of MREA’s four membership zones features at least one open position for terms beginning Jan. 1, 2024.
